Flower Drum- one of Melbourne's most iconic Cantonese restaurants is shaking things up with the addition of an adjoining bar
The venue that has operated out of Market Lane for the past 40+ years hasn't seen any drastic changes until now.
"It’s a pretty big departure from our long-lunch and dinner format," says Jason Lui- general manager, "but it's something I’ve always wanted to do. We're in the theatre district, after all, and it's nice to have another great place to go before or after a show, or just for a drink after work."
The Cantonese institution will now shift to offer a space for diners to enjoy a bite and beverage before their reservation or a night cap after their meal. The menu will consist of small plates such as spring rolls and dumplings with an extensive drinks list offering Dom Perignon by the glass.
